History signs “Joe Canadian”

TORONTO – Best known for his "I Am Canadian" rant for Molson’s beer, History Television announced today that Jeff Douglas will be coming to the network as host of new series Things that Move, premiering October 3.

"Jeff is a wonderful addition to History Television," said Cindy Witten, vice-president of programming for History Television, in the press release. "His enthusiastic personality and his passion for history will resonate extremely well with our viewers."

Airing week nights at 6 p.m. ET, Douglas’ 20-part series explores the genesis of going mobile. From the Zamboni and the wheelchair to the electric car and the elevator.

The show will reveal the technological innovation and historical confluence that has led to humans travelling in more interesting ways. Each episode focuses on a unique machine and examines the struggles and triumphs of its history – delving into the inner workings of the machine itself and its effects on our daily lives.

The 20 episodes of Things that Move are Bicycle, Bush Plane, Canoe, Car-Boat, Electric Car, Wheelchair, Elevators, Fire Engine, Hang Glider, Helicopter, Hot Air Balloon, Hovercraft, Locomotive, Roller Coaster, Skate Board, Snowboard, Snowmobile, Toboggan, Tractor and Zamboni.
