CTV sweeps top 10 summer programs

TORONTO – CTV is home to all of Canada’s Top 10 summer programs, the broadcaster announced today.

The results from BBM confirm that CTV not only has maintained its recent ratings success, but has basically retained all of its audience momentum heading into the fall 2005 season. Canadian Idol continued in its number one role, too.

“Further analysis verifies that CTV scores the entire Top 10 and 15 of the Top 20 programs in total viewers and in the key Adults 25-54 demographic. In the Adults 18-49 demo, it’s a similar story as CTV counts 7 of the Top 10 and 14 of the Top 20 programs in Canada,” says the press release.

For the third consecutive year, leading all programs this summer is homegrown phenom Canadian Idol. The only program averaging more than two million viewers per episode, it holds a 36% lead in total viewers when measured against second-ranked Dancing With The Stars (1.478M, CTV). Recent newcomer, So You Think You Can Dance, has landed at No. 4 (1.47M, CTV). CTV’s Brat Camp (1.35M) holds down the No. 6 spot while CTV Evening News continues to draw Top 10 numbers with 1.23 million viewers every night.
