Alliance Atlantis in programming deal with Reality channel


LONDON – Alliance Atlantis and Zone Vision Networks have signed an extensive licensing agreement which will see the Canadian company’s programming aired on Zone’s global cable channel Reality TV.

The agreement brings new series to Reality TV in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia and Japan.

Among the five new series included in the deal are seasons one and two of Emmy-nominated series by controversial documentary filmmaker Michael Moore “The Awful Truth.”

Also included in the package are three, one-hour episodes each of “In the Nick of Time,” “Amazing Births” and “Stunt School.” “In the Nick of Time,” captures the drama, humour, panic, tension and relief of people who are thrust into life-threatening situations where time is a crucial factor – from fires and avalanches to an asthma attack, heart transplant and the dreaded flesh-eating disease – and will air on Reality TV feeds serving Asia, EMEA, the UK and Japan

Zone Vision has also acquired the rights to “The Wall Crawler,” a one-hour film about the achievements of internationally acclaimed French climber, Alain Robert as he scales buildings in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Kuala Lumpur and Sabah, Malaysia, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Milan, Moscow and Paris.

“As the distribution of Reality TV continues to expand around the world, and we add more feeds to serve these areas, we are stepping up our acquisitions to provide our viewers with some of the best reality programming in the world,” said Steve Cole, vice-president, Reality TV, in a release. “Alliance Atlantis is a tremendous resource to us and we look forward to working with them more in the future.”

Reality TV was first launched in Europe and has gained distribution in more than 125 territories in just five years. Worldwide, Reality TV is now broadcast in 18 different languages and is available to over 134 million subscribers.
