71% of international students choose wireless carrier during first week in Canada, says SRG report

TORONTO — International students in Canada are quick to choose a wireless provider when they arrive here to study, according to a new report from Toronto-based consumer research consultancy Solutions Research Group (SRG). SRG’s study found 71% of international students had a wireless account set up within the first week of arriving in Canada. The top five wireless brands among international students are, in order, Fido, Freedom Mobile, Bell, Virgin and Rogers, with a total of 72% of the market, according to SRG’s International Students Report 2022.
