4M tune in for men’s Olympic hockey team announcement

TORONTO - Nearly four million Canadians watched Wednesday’s announcement of the 23-man hockey squad chosen to represent Canada at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.Carried live from Saskatoon by Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, the announcement was broadcast in English and French by 13 television channels, as well as on three radio stations and two websites.The one-hour special was watched on television in whole or in part by 3.98 million viewers, an increase of more than 70% for the average daily reach for that time period (12 noon-1 p.m. ET).
