45% of Canadian households with SVOD accounts share with others, MTM says

OTTAWA – The CBC’s Media Technology Monitor (MTM), released a new report today, which shows 45% of Canadian households with subscription video on demand (SVOD) accounts, share those accounts with other households. “The vast majority of Canadian households have access to at least one SVOD service,” says a press release announcing the publication of the report, which considers how Canadians are borrowing and lending SVOD accounts. “While francophones are less likely than anglophones to subscribe to SVODs, they are more likely to be sharing their subscriptions with others,” the release says.
