TORONTO – DHX Television has launched the Family Channel app, a one-stop destination for the entire family that offers programming from Family Channel, Family CHRGD, Family Jr. and F2N.
Free to Family subscribers, the app boasts more than 900 episodes across 40 series for audiences on mobile devices, tablets and via an extended desktop experience. Viewers will have access to full-length episodes on demand, may store episodes for viewing without an internet connection via the Offline Downloads feature, and offers the option to watch the entire schedule for all four channels live as it airs.
“Our existing offering of top quality, award-winning programming is further enhanced by the Family Channel App, as it makes programming suitable for the entire family available in one place creating a premier destination for family entertainment,” said DHX Television GM and SVP Joe Tedesco, in the news release. “Giving viewers further flexibility to watch the Family Channel content they love whenever they want and through the screen that best suits their lifestyle not only adds value but provides a customizable viewing experience that subscribers can take advantage of.”
To commemorate the app’s launch, the series premiere of new sitcom Raising Expectations, starring Molly Ringwald and Jason Priestley, is available now for on demand viewing on the app ahead of its network debut on May 8.
DHX Television partnered with Canadian media app solutions company Digiflare to develop and launch the Family Channel App for iPhone and Android platforms.
