TORONTO — Bell Media announced today the rebranding of 25 local stations as part of the launch of a new national brand, Bounce Radio.
The brand’s programming format will see the stations delivering hits from the ’80s, ’90s and ’00s, which is similar to the previous format for many of the stations. Bell Media says all Bounce Radio stations will continue to be anchored by homegrown morning shows with hosts familiar to local listeners.
A Bell Media spokesperson confirmed to Cartt.ca there are no layoffs as a result of the stations’ format change to Bounce Radio.

Some of the local brands being replaced include Hamilton’s K-Lite, Kitchener’s K-Fun, Fredericton’s “The Fox”, Truro’s “Big Dog”, Owen Sound and Simcoe County’s “The Dock”, and Bob FM stations in Winnipeg, Brandon, Lindsay and Brockville. A number of the B.C. interior stations were formerly operating under the EZ Rock format.
For most of the rebranded stations, the music format will stay pretty much the same (such as for K-Lite, K-Fun, the EZ Rocks and the Bob FMs). It will be a format switch for the rock stations Big Dog and The Fox, as well as The Bear stations in Fort St. John and Fort Nelson.
Bell Media is launching the Bounce Radio format with the Bounce Big Money Jackpot contest, giving one listener the opportunity to win $25,000. More information about the contest is available at BounceRadio.ca.
