24 returns, but this time it’s 24/7


TORONTO – Television drama 24 is returning to the airwaves for its seventh season, but not just with new adventures for star Kiefer Sutherland. Global Television has developed complementary show content and will offer it on-line, through video-on-demand (VOD) and via mobile downloads.

Full-length episodes of the show will be available a day after the network broadcast at www.globaltv.com, and Rogers Cable customers will be watch the latest episodes free-of-charge through their VOD platform Rogers-On-Demand.

Viewers on the go can download up to 120 mobisodes housed at www.watch24now.com through any web-enabled mobile device. The mobisodes are 2-minute reels summarizing the plots of each episode from seasons 1 through 5. Five “mobile debriefs” of 2-4 minutes in length from season 6 will also be available, the press release said.

"Canadians want great entertainment, and they’re hungry for it 24/7," said Barbara Williams, executive vice-president of content for Canwest in the release. "We’ve succeeded on this mission through the exciting digital components, and the new season of 24 is another example of Canwest’s commitment to giving our viewers what they want, when they want it."

24 will premiere on Global on Sunday, January 11 at 8pm ET/PT.
