TORONTO – Production company 11 Television Canada is developing its first gameshow format in collaboration with Canadian TV veteran Alan Thicke.
The still to be named show has a “unique, challenging and groundbreaking” format said Thicke in a statement, who began his TV career as an actor in 1969. The former "Growing Pains" star has since worked as both a producer and host in Canada. It was not revealed whether Thicke will be one of the Essential 11 project’s producers, or its host.
Toronto-based 11 Television Canada is headed by executive producers Kevin Healey, Chris Hilton and Jesse Fawcett. The production company is part of the Essential 11 Media Group, an international partnership that also includes 11 Television USA and Australian production company Essential Media and Entertainment. Essential 11′s goal is to distribute formats across the US, Canada and Australia.
