100,000 and counting: Videotron’s illico.tv app passes milestone

MONTRÉAL – Just six weeks after its release, Videotron’s illico.tv app for iPad has passed 100,000 downloads. The app, available for free on the App Store or iTunes, enables Videotron customers access the most popular programs from many of the channels in their TV package on an iPad, whenever and wherever they want.

“Reaching 100,000 downloads this fast is proof positive that the app meets customers’ needs and reflects the care and thought we put into developing a product that provides the best possible technological and entertainment experience,” said Manon Brouillette, President, Consumer Market.

The iPad app supports all the illico.tv features that Videotron customers appreciate, including live streaming TV and video on demand. Users can remotely program their video recorder, view the full TV schedule and watch thousands of hours of content from more than 40 television channels, all on their iPad.

Users can view their favourite shows as many times as they wish or tune in the “wacky content served up by Canada’s first mobile channel, Lib tv.” The free app adds a new option to the illico access platforms that have already been developed for the Web, television and mobile devices. The array of illico.tv content available on iPad will be steadily enriched in the coming months says Videotron.
