U.S. digital TV transition officially delayed

WASHINGTON – After weeks of debate and a few aborted attempts at legislation – and two years of hard work by American broadcasters and cable companies to hammer home the drop dead digital deadline of February 17th, 2009 – the U.S. Congress voted on Wednesday to delay the cut off date for over-the-air analog television to June 12, backing an earlier Senate bill.
