The Podcast: How WCT is helping remove barriers to gender equality (Part One)

An interview with Women in Communications and Technology executive director Joanne Stanley and board member Cheryl Fullerton, EVP people and communications at Corus Entertainment

GENDER EQUALITY IN the workplace among media and technology companies is something all corporate leaders say they are 100% in favour of, and insist they are moving in that direction.

But there remain many barriers – and this is where Women in Communications and Technology comes in. The organization aims to change attitudes and drive change so that Canadian women can both succeed – and lead – in our ever-developing digital economy.

WCT provides mentorship and executive sponsorship, urges flexible, diverse workplaces and provides executive leadership, among other aids, to its 2,500-plus members.

The challenges to build a society with more women in management and leadership are many, but WCT is chipping away at those. Please listen to this podcast beginning today. Part two is coming Monday.’s Bill Roberts interviewed Stanley and Fullerton in Toronto in early March – prior to Covid-19 being declared a pandemic.
