Nominations announced for Directors Guild awards

TORONTO - The Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) announced the 2008 DGC Awards nominations today. The annual gala will be hosted by comedian Shaun Majumder on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.This year's Award nominees include David Cronenberg's Eastern Promises and Jeremy Podeswa's Fugitive Pieces, leading the pack with five nominations each with nods to Kari Skogland's The Stone Angel and Denys Arcand's L'Age des ténèbres.
