WINNIPEG – MTS said late Friday that the Telecommunications Employees Association of Manitoba (TEAM-IFPTE Local 161) has ratified a new three year collective agreement.
TEAM-IFPTE Local 161 represents 900 managers and professionals at MTS. The two sides reached a tentative agreement on May 9 and TEAM's negotiating committee unanimously recommended acceptance. TEAM-IFPTE membership held its ratification vote Thursday.
The agreement, which has an expiry date of February 19, 2019, includes wage increases of 1.5% in the first year and 2% in each of the following two years.
"We are thrilled that both negotiating teams were able to reach this agreement and that TEAM-IFPTE membership voted to support it," said MTS president and CEO Jay Forbes, in the news release. "We enjoyed a very productive and positive negotiating process and are looking forward to strengthening our relationship as we continue serving our customers.”
