Reporting to the Manager, Device and SIM’s, the Wireless Lab Technician will be responsible for executing test cases for a variety of wireless devices and accessories, both in the lab and in the field, using various logging and diagnostic tools. You will troubleshoot and debug technical issues that arise and communicate these issues to the appropriate key stakeholder group. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting test suites developed to validate a device’s compliance to requirements as determined by Eastlink.

  • Monitoring ongoing performance of specific devices.

  • Generating reports on specific device performance.

  • Completing and maintaining necessary test documentation.

  • Identifying gaps in testing and documenting accordingly.

  • Maintain lab and test equipment.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance automation and productivity in the execution of test cases.


As the ideal candidate you are an organized, professional and analytical individual who is passionate about technology and quick to learn new technology concepts. A natural team player, you work collaboratively with others. Able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a deadline and results driven environment, you excel at problem solving and able to easily adapt to change.


  • 4+ years of experience in a testing role;

  • 2 year Diploma in Electronics or Computer Technology or have an equivalent level of experience;

  • Strong understanding of UMTS, LTE, and VoLTE protocols;

  • Experience in a mobile testing environment;

  • Experience in decoding and understanding call flows in a mobile network;

  • Experience with Unix-like operating systems and scripting languages an asset;

  • Basic database experience and scripting experience an asset;

  • Experience with software test automation tools;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including writing instruction manuals and other forms of technical writing.

  • Must be a self-starter, motivated, detail oriented, and have the ability to work collaboratively with others;

  • Experience with defect management software an asset;

  • Knowledge of a variety of programming languages (e.g. C++, Java, Python);

  • Strong computer skills in MS Office including Excel.
