User Experience Designer – Corus entertainment

About the Role:

Reporting to Manager, Enterprise Program Delivery, you will be responsible for facilitating and documenting user experience research and Design Thinking methods for an array of Corus business problems. A key component of the role will be to digitize/document end user profiles, customer journey maps, zero-based design brainstorming, and user stories for a large-scale project with end users from Sales, Revenue Management, Broadcast Traffic/Inventory, Content, Finance, and Technology. The role is an opportunity to contribute to the improvement of processes and technology at Corus, while working with a team of dedicated business stakeholders in an agile team environment.


  • Selecting, planning and executing the appropriate user research techniques dependent upon the scope of the business problems under review
  • Analyzing and translating user research into actionable strategies
  • Presenting user research in an engaging and compelling manner, including digitized user profiles, customer journey maps, zero-based design brainstorming outcomes, and user stories
  • Assisting with the facilitation of customer journey mapping and Design Thinking sessions
  • Contribute ideas and wire framing to the prototyping and evaluation of innovative user interactions
  • Leverage analytics knowledge and techniques to propose measures of success, present opportunities, and support decision-making and prioritization
  • Provide guidance on incorporating usability testing and analysis of results
  • Experience with agile usability and agile methodologies a plus

About You

What We Need From You:

  • 2-4+ years as an user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role with a customer focus
  • Related post secondary education or commensurate experience
  • Knowledge of User Interface Design principles, Human Factors, User-Centered Design, and Design Thinking Practices
  • Ability to work and collaborate with a cross functional team within an agile methodology
  • Excellent knowledge of current web and software trends
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Clear, organized writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience working with iterative development methodologies
  • Highly organized and accountable self-starter with ability to prioritize and manage multiple streams of work
  • Have the ability to confidently bring new ideas to the team
  • Provide guidance on how best to conduct usability testing and analysis of results
  • Experience with agile usability and agile methodologies a plus
