Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, as a System Technician you will be hands on with all the different functions required to serve our customers. As part of a small team you’ll be involved with everything from providing an exceptional experience in our customers’ homes to building and maintaining our extensive Fiber Plus network. Our System Technicians are truly jacks-of-all-trades.
A typical day
A typical day as a System Technician can involve anything from warehousing duties to expanding our Fiber Plus network into a new neighborhood. You’ll generally be working outdoors and often at heights either on a ladder or in a hydraulic lift truck. And because things happen, you’ll be part of an on-call rotation to come in after hours to save the day. With the wide variety of accountabilities time management is very important, and you’ll have the freedom to prioritize your duties as you see fit.
(Experience is considered an asset, but not required as training is provided):
• Maintain a valid full class-5 driver’s license with annual abstract review
• Comfortable working outside year-round
• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Performs work with safety top of mind and adheres to all safety requirements
• Customer-centric focus, and commitment to quality control excellence
• Technical aptitude, with a desire to stay up to date on the latest industry trends
• Self-starter who can discover, develop and coordinate projects
• Physically able to perform all aspects of job including working at heights, heavy lifting, and maneuvering through crawl spaces
