TELUS is looking for an experienced Senior Technology Architect to join the B2B Digital Commerce and Mobility Management Team that deliver Direct-to-Customer experience that empowers and enables corporate customers through best-in-class tools, platforms and processes to support Day 1 (ordering) and Day 2 (manage) activities via the Self-Serve portal. You will be joining an agile and collaborative team responsible for strategic roadmap, design, development and operational support of the whole portfolio. The team is passionate and proud of developing world-class enterprise grade applications that not only serve external customers, but also in enabling internal team members through driving improvements to workplace processes and daily work life.

As a Senior Technology Architect, you will demonstrate a strong knowledge and competence across IT Architecture, business strategy, services sales, project delivery, leadership and technical acumen. This senior position requires exceptional technical aptitude, leadership and customer interface skills.
This role will be engaging with senior level technology decision makers in discussions related to business value and solutions as well as coordinating various objectives of multiple internal and external partners in an effort to drive value for customers.
This role will be responsible for architectural alignment, completeness, accuracy and adherence to the technical vision and roadmap that you have created.

Here’s how
As a Senior Technology Architect, you will:

Be hands on in scoping, estimating and managing large complex architectures for platform development and deployment projects
Develop application architecture design for high complexity projects, with emphasis on technical architecture and solution components
Participate in the review of detailed design specifications, test plans and user documentation for functional and technical completeness and accuracy
Act as a consultant in the search for alternative technical infrastructure solution components
Assess and manage architectural and technical impacts
Mentor and develop technical team members and peers
Provide technical leadership to internal team members and various stakeholders
Lead Point of Contact (PoC) efforts for candidate architectures, products and tools
Hands on experience to assist in the remediation of application stability and performance
Known as a self-starter who is willing to operate nimbly to drive execution/to meet deliverables, and experience working remotely
Qualifications

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
10 or more years of experience in Java/JEE technologies, with knowledge of Unix/Linux operating system principles
7 or more years of experience in JSON & Rest Webservices, eCommerce applications like Oracle Commerce (ATG) or equivalent, Data modeling
Recognized for your knowledge on React, Nodejs, Microservices architecture, Cloud technology like Google Cloud Platform, Openshift, Kubernetes, Docker etc
A strong interest in best practice software engineering, including Agile scrum process, test automation, code quality assurance etc
Telecommunication and infrastructure design knowledge would be a strong asset
Mastery level – Database design and access (SQL, Relational DBMS, flat files)
Noted for Integration architecture knowledge (messaging, workflow, etc.) e.g. Apache Kafka, MQ Series, JMS
Required Professional Designation/Certification(s):

5 or more years in a technical leadership role
7 or more years of experience as designer and developer for Enterprise Web Application, Self Serve or eCommerce applications
10 or more years of experience in analyzing systems requirements, application design, and application development
Great-to-haves

Previous experience in leading a DevOps team is an asset
Good track record of exceptional communication and collaboration skills to influence and build strong business partner relationships
