Senior Manager, Network Operations and Planning – Columbia Basin Trust

Columbia Basin Trust (the Trust) is seeking a results-oriented, highly motivated individual for the position of Senior Manager, Network Operations and Planning, within its wholly owned subsidiary Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation (CBBC). This is a regular, full-time position that reports to the Chief Operating Officer of CBBC and can be based out of our Castlegar or Cranbrook locations.

The Senior Manager, Network Operations and Planning will provide a combination of strategic and operational oversight, as well as be a hands-on contributor in a small and nimble team environment. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery and support for all core technology processes and services.

One of the Trust’s strategic priorities is improving high speed internet connectivity in the Columbia Basin (the Basin), particularly in rural and underserved areas. The Basin is a mountainous, forested region that includes many rural communities with small populations. This makes the deployment of connectivity infrastructure challenging.

The Trust’s regional broadband network consists of 1,000+ km of backbone fibre, 30+ community points of presence, and several last mile fibre networks. The network is operated on an open access basis, and the Trust provides wholesale services to a range of clients, including rural service providers, government and commercial entities.

The Trust has significantly expanded its fibre optic network in recent years and is continuing to do so. The Trust wishes to ensure that underserved Basin communities have affordable, reliable and scalable services.

To provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, the Trust has a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy that requires all employees to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Employees who are unable to be vaccinated due to a personal characteristic protected under the BC Human Rights Code may request an exemption to the Vaccination Policy.

How to apply:
Please submit a cover letter and resume on our website by March 6, 2022. The Trust respects and values the rich and diverse cultures in the Basin. We welcome and encourage those who identify as Indigenous to apply.

Who are we?

The Trust operates in the unceded, traditional territories of the Ktunaxa, Lheidli T’enneh, Secwepemc, Sinixt and Syilx Nations. This region is also home to six Metis Nation BC Chartered Communities. We have offices in four communities around the Basin: Castlegar, Nakusp, Cranbrook and Golden. These communities offer year-round outdoor recreation, a vibrant arts and culture scene and much more.
