As a Custom Security Sales Professional, you will provide customized security solutions to our small and medium business customers across Canada. Your goal will be to increase TELUS’ presence, focusing on customized security solutions aligned to our client’s needs. You will ensure our customers have access to the latest security solutions, industry trends, and most importantly secure facilities for their employees, customers and assets. Your responsibilities will be broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities, requiring rapid shifts in priorities. Your ability to take action, foster relationships and take initiative will ensure your success in this role. Here’s how
Promote and sell Security & Automation services over the phone and in person
Actively prospect for potential business & consumer customers
Build trust, loyalty and solid long-term relationships with key decision-makers
Deliver the right solution for your clients’ evolving requirements with prompt and efficient service
Own your client relationships, including planning and service delivery
Use your effective negotiation ability & enter into contractual agreements in accordance with TELUS’ policy & procedures
Provide accurate and timely forecasts, funnel hygiene, target/objective updates to deliver on all territory plans and team annual targets
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and leading the account team to drive real and long-standing business value
Positively represent TELUS values at work and in the community
Qualifications

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle
1 to 3 years of B2B experience in technical sales, security or related hardware with a focus in in lead generation and account acquisitions
Excellent communication skills and a knack to adapt to virtual type of sales
Natural ability to think and act strategically while applying formal sales methodologies with your clients
Understanding of current and prospective customers’ security automation needs and issues, and ability to conduct “needs analysis” for clients
Bring an entrepreneurial spirit, to search and source new clients to achieve and deliver on growth and profitability targets by cold calling, door knocking, networking and local events
Skill at selecting and qualifying profitable opportunities is second to none
Demonstrated success handling both short and long-term selling cycles while effectively and consistently applying a multi-step selling process/methodology
Aptitude for selling and effectively managing and fostering positive relationships
Strong sensitivity to customer needs and situations, analytical ability in discerning priority and non-priority issues, making decisions and can be persuasive in negotiating mutually satisfying resolutions
Proven ability to hunt, prospect, and search for new business in a competitive market while consistently achieving quotas
Demonstrated ability to develop technical recommendations, solutions, and proposals to meet customer requirements
Own a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license and be prepared for possible travel
Great-to-haves
Knowledge or previous experience in the home security and/or telecommunications industry
Strong technical background in security systems including Video Access Control, CCTV and Monitoring
Solution selling methodology knowledge
Experience with, or an affinity for, volunteerism and community involvement
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products and customer relationship management tools
Comfortable using social media to build networks
Connected and active within your community and local business associations (e.g. Chamber of Commerce)
