We are looking for an experienced and dynamic reporter to work from our station in Sudbury. Reporting to the Executive Producer, you will be responsible for live and taped reporting as well as material on our digital and social platforms. You will pitch story ideas, research, write and present news stories on local, regional and national news programs. You have strong journalistic skills, you’re a journalist who takes initiative, you have great ideas.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to all editorial platforms as required.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- University degree in journalism or equivalent and five years experience.
- Excellent reporting and interviewing skills.
- Comfortable reporting live.
- Excellent digital, web and social media skills.
- Knowledge of provincial affairs and the local and regional issues.
- Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada journalistic and programming policies.
- Ability to work flexible hours and on weekends as needed.
- Team player.
- Critical mind.
- Proven ability to work in a high-stress, tight-deadline environment
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of the public broadcaster's role and responsibilities.
- Valid driver's licence.
