Product Manager

WESTMAN COMMUNICATIONS GROUP is seeking applications for an organized and energetic Product Manager to join our growing organization as a member of the Marketing team. This is a challenging and rewarding position for a customer and solutions-focused manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering new products and services in the telecommunications (or related) industry. This role involves experience in leading product and service, management and development; including developing requirements, concept designs and testing, preparing business case justifications for new investments; creating, implementing and reporting on pre and post launch strategies and metrics while delivering a strong customer experience.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage our product and service portfolio and associated development roadmap
  • Ensure sales engagement and enablement to drive revenue growth across the channels
  • Manage pricing, and assist with quoting for custom solutions
  • Identify opportunities to influence the product roadmap and service development by listening to customers and market trends
  • Ensure service development alignment to customer needs, market trends and life cycle management
  • Deliver on the product strategy in coordination with the various stakeholders
  • Create product requirements documents and business cases for new products and enablement platforms; support through all stages of ideation, funding, design, execution
  • Manage development and product releases with cross functional groups (i.e. sales; billing; customer care; and planning and design)
  • Lead strategic planning alignment for the product, combining strategy with forecasting of revenue; cost of goods sold; capital expenditure; and profit and loss management
  • Lead billing enhancements initiatives for product/service enhancements
  • Monitor customer experience key success factors for trends and develop action plans to address low net promoter score areas
  • Develop framework for customer commitment, fulfillment and performance
  • Cross-functionally communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Project Management teams across the value chain for fulfilment, and service development initiatives
  • Use data to analyze the portfolio and the value chain to make informed decisions on actions, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency, lowest levels of cycle time, and highest level of margin are achieved
  • Analyze market research, and competitive research to ensure the product and service maintain a leadership role in the market
  • Monitor subscriber and revenue results on market/portfolio basis versus forecasts

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, time and project management skills
  • Provide ability to efficiently and effectively research and create sound business case recommendations while operating within industry best practices and standards
  • Capable of multi-tasking numerous projects at once and proven ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Self-motivation and direction; the ability to seamlessly collaborate is necessary but you excel working with a degree of autonomy
  • Results-oriented and process driven, with high expectations for self and team
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and promptly identify potential problems and take corrective action before they become issues by using analytical skills to reach a logical conclusion
  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with other teams or groups to achieve goals
  • Technically inclined with an interest and ability to understand new technology; keen understanding of web/app ecosystems and internet/video services
  • Aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making
  • Innovative and creative with the ability to identify and develop business opportunities
  • A bridge-builder with the ability to navigate challenges, build credibility, and effectively communicate with all position levels is necessary

Your Education and Training

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Engineering or a combination of academic training and experience deemed equivalent
  • 4+ years experience in the telecommunication industry is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Planner and OneDrive is considered an asset
