PRODUCER – OHL TONIGHT (Contract) – Cable 14 Hamilton

Cable 14 Hamilton requires a Staff Producer with a passion for all sports content, but especially hockey. The Producer of our OHL TONIGHT programming will be responsible for planning, creating, developing and ensuring timely delivery of content. This is a contract position beginning in mid-September and continuing until the end of the OHL hockey season.

-Responsible for all aspects of television production (concept development, pre and post-production elements including lighting, videography, editing, and directing) that correspond to the programming strategy of TV Hamilton Limited.
-Responsible for the creation of promotional content for Cable 14 programming as required.
-Responsible for ensuring that all technical quality and format guidelines are met when delivering content.
-Responsible for ensuring consistent and professional delivery of content.
-Ensure that production schedules and planning are communicated, distributed and coordinated in a timely manner to all relevant department heads and support staff as applicable and as required.
-Actively participates in the recruitment, training, development, and motivation of Co-Op Students, Interns, Community Producers and Volunteers. This includes preparing training materials and conducting workshops.
-Contributes in a positive way to all internal and external communications. The role requires the Producer to build positive public relations and partnerships in order to maximize the positive impact on the community, shareholders, and the company in general.
-Acts as a liaison with shareholders, media, community partners, organizations and individuals. Serve as an ambassador for the organization at all times.
-Accountable and responsible for the health and safety of staff, volunteers and guests in accordance with Company Health and Safety policies and procedures. Contributes to ongoing policy development, training, and information gathering.

-Demonstrable experience in high-quality sports television production, coupled with a degree, Diploma and/or Certificate in Television Production, Communication, Journalism and/or Multi-Media from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent experience or training.
-Minimum 2 years experience in a media production or programming environment, preferably at the community programming level. Valid Class G license with an excellent driving record.
-A clean workplace safety record.
-Highly self-motivated and creative, with superior time and project management skills. Thrives in an environment with minimal supervision with the expectation that content will be delivered with exceptional results.
-Proficiency in Google Workspace applications (Mail, Calendar, Spreadsheets).
-Operational knowledge of all production equipment, including video switchers, audio boards, lighting, computers, and graphics units, along with ENG/EFP camera and non-linear editing systems.
-The position requires the ability to work shifts, including evenings, holidays and weekends.
