About the Role:
Global Edmonton is looking for a part time temporary producer to join the number one newsroom.
Reporting to the Supervising News Producer, you will be responsible for overseeing and producing news and feature content for Global News. The successful may also be asked to work flexible shifts on other Global News broadcasts. This position is Group F in the Collective Agreement.
·Oversee, write, and produce content for various newscasts
·Take newscasts to air in the control room and drive market-leading ratings performance through story selection and lineup choices
·Oversee editorial decision-making around content choices
·Perform other duties as required
What We Need From You:
·A minimum of three (3) years experience writing and producing in a medium or large market
·Broadcast-related degree/diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution
·Exceptional communication and organizational skills
·Ability to make quick decisions under pressure while meeting tight deadlines
·Willingness to adapt to rapidly changing technology and workflows
·Strong familiarity with both broadcast and online journalism, particularly news writing, newscast lineups, video editing, content production and social media
·Recognized ability to both lead a team and work in collaboration with team members
·A familiarity with Global News, both on-air and online
·Proven control room experience is preferred
