Pattison Media’s Lethbridge division is seeking a Morning News Anchor/Reporter to add to the Lethbridge News Now team.
This position involves working alone in the newsroom during early morning hours. Therefore, the ideal candidate should have the ability to work independently while showcasing sound news judgement. Ideally, our next team member has a background in radio broadcasting as a news anchor.
The Morning News Anchor will anchor live newscasts on Pattison station WILD 95.5 FM, every half hour beginning at 5:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. Additionally, the successful candidate will voice morning newscasts for Pattison station B93.3 FM. They will also work as a reporter, being assigned stories to cover, in the field and in the newsroom once their on-air anchoring shift is done.
Candidates should have:
• Strong on-air news anchoring skills.
• Outstanding writing skills.
• Excellent news judgement and the ability to make quick decisions.
• Strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced morning news environment.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Valid Driver’s License.
Our newsroom currently operates on a rotating on-call system for weekend work, which may require the successful candidate to cover news events on the weekend.
