About the Role
Are you an experienced Connected TV developer who stays current by experimenting with new technology and looking for ways to make the web better for everyone involved? Then we are looking for you to join our development team working on exciting media rich features and apps to support our TVE/OTT strategy across our brands.
A successful applicant will be responsible for:
Regularly collaborate with members across multiple scrum teams
Writing and verifying code which adheres to acceptance criteria and coding standards
Regularly identifying ways to refactor code, supporting continuous improvements of all mobile applications
Contributing to the over all architecture strategy for Corus’ mobile applications
Contribute to Corus’ over all strategy to provide our customers with the best experience.
Participate in regular code reviews, and help formulate and ensure adherence to industry best practices and guidelines
You’ll be working on things like:
Working with other members of Corus’ Agile development teams maintaining and adding new features to our current Global TV App for streaming video.
Your primary focus will be supporting the Global TV App development on iOS
You have the opportunity to work on many different platforms. We currently support iOS, Android, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and Chrome cast.
Working with our product owners to help define and implement new features
Learning new technologies and development languages.
If you have the following… we want to hear from you!:
5+ years professional software development experience building iOS Applications
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related field or demonstrated industry hands-on experience
In depth knowledge of Objective C development using storyboards in Xcode.
Comfortable with collective code ownership, pair programming, Unit Testing, and Continuous Integration
Experience working with public facing, high-availability, mission-critical applications
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience or a willingness to thrive in an Agile software development methodologies
Solid understanding of multi-threaded applications
Experienced developing network enabled HTTPS client applications that use REST and RPC
A strong knowledge of:
Software development life-cycle (SDLC)
Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
Working knowledge of design patterns
Experience with the following an asset:
Swift, Android Jetpack, Android SDK, Android NDK, BrightScript
Video streaming + video on demand
Ad integration (VAST/VMAP a plus)
Metrics (Omniture a plus)
