Career Opportunity: Market Lead, Real Estate & Municipal Affairs BC

Are you passionate about building wireless networks? The Network team located in North Vancouver is currently seeking a Market Lead, Real Estate & Municipal Affairs to join their team. 
Reporting to the Manager, Real Estate & Municipal Affairs BC, you will be responsible for activities related to the approvals and authorization of network build and maintenance of wireless coverage and capacity sites for Freedom Mobile. You will be responsible for negotiations and management associated with select markets of Freedom Mobile’s wireless network within the province of British Columbia. The selected candidate will work closely with various cross-functional teams within Freedom Mobile’s organization, including; Civil Engineering, R.F. Engineering, Transmission Engineering, as well as the Project Management Office.

Accountabilities/ Responsibilities 
• Manage Vendor Consultants tasked with ensuring delivery of all assigned real estate and municipal milestones required by the business for network expansion and overlay.
• Support and direct escalations related to site agreement negotiations and municipal (land use authority) applications, achieving resolution while staying within target business terms. 
• Build and foster strong relationships with other Freedom Mobile and Shaw business units to promote one voice of Freedom-Shaw outside the organization,
• Act as primary market relationship owner with relevant Municipalities and other specialized government authorities,
• Work with Shaw Legal and Government Relations departments for regular approval and escalation matters
• Manage and track all assigned market real estate finances; capital budgets, operating budgets, forecasts, and on-going monthly tracking to forecasts,
• Establish and report on assigned market delivery milestone metrics.

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications: 
• Post-secondary degree in Business, Real Estate or Planning, 
• Experience in leading teams (people management – vendors), preferably in the telecommunications industry,
• Knowledge of wireless network operations,
• Strong verbal and written communication skills,
• Self-sufficient with the strong ability to adapt to change quickly,
• Leadership, autonomy, initiative, efficiency,
• Excellent time/priority management skills,
• Self-motivated, possessing team spirit and committing to creating a positive working culture
• Superior negotiation skills
