Your role

Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance, Media Solutions (Sales/Revenue department for Radio-Canada and CBC) who is based in Toronto, you will be responsible for providing timely presentations, reports and rigorous financial analyses. This will include preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and month-end close support. You will partner with Finance and Media Solutions to enable a smooth planning period, facilitate and manage internal processes, and support the execution of the operating plan. Please note that the successful candidate for this position can either be based out of Toronto or Montreal.

Key Tasks:
Coordinate and consolidate the 3-year operating and strategic plans, quarterly forecasting and target setting processes, including revenue modeling.
Work with operations and finance management in the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts, distill and synthesize key trends, assess current and future plan and strategy risks or opportunities.
Assess the financial performance of Media Solutions as well as possible risks and investments.
Prepare presentations of plans, budget and forecast information to CRO, Media Solutions Leadership Team, Finance SLT and Senior Executive Team.
Develop annual financial planning and reporting calendars, and communicate within Media Solutions Finance, working collaboratively with Network counterparts.
Manage the reporting and variance analysis of consolidated information for management and internal/external stakeholders.
Ensure continuous improvement relating to the internal reporting process and content of the information reported.
Develop and implement consistent processes, formats and reports to enable efficient and accurate consolidation of financial and operational data.
Utilize Finance Management Tool (FMT) to design, develop and implement improved financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
Perform other special/ad-hoc projects as assigned.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA).
Bilingual (French and English).
At least five years’ experience in a financial management environment, with 3 years in a manager position.
Knowledge and experience in all areas of financial reporting and analysis, accounting, budgeting and forecasting and a working understanding of IFRS.
Capacity to interpret and reorganize data and information of a complex nature for presentation to all levels of management in a clear and concise manner.
Experience building financial or decision support models.
Strong communicator well known for clarity in communicating complicated concepts and information and able to interact and communicate with peers as well as management of several departments.
Analytical, problem-solving, advanced business acumen skills.
Must have extremely high level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and work independently as well as within a team.
Flexibility, superior organizational and time management skills are required.
Confidentiality is a must as you will work with sensitive information.
Previous experience with SAP, Cognos/TM1 is an asset.
Willingness to travel between Toronto/Montreal 4 to 6 times a year.
Very strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
