As a working manager, oversee the Charlottetown, PEI Community Television programming requirements and produce compelling programming for Eastlink TV. This position will be expected to grow the community television business; with relevant and appropriate content, quality production standards, sponsorship (advertising revenue) development, and effective management of resources.

The Eastlink TV Manager, PEI will thrive on teamwork and collaboration be a strong, effective communicator and creative problem solver, with excellent time management and multi-project management skills. This position will build positive working relationships within the local and national programming department, the community, media partners, and will have a passion for television production and a desire to lead teams.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Eastlink TV PEI
Oversee overall management and operation of the community channel
Ensure programs meet company standards
Train and develop production crews as well as conduct pre-production and post-production meeting and program story critiques
Produce, direct, edit productions and ensure consistent compliance with company policies, procedures and standards.
Co-ordinate and develop efficiencies that will allow maximum output.
Communicate and coordinate with staff and external organizations in regard to activities and scheduling
Remain conversant with all departmental production equipment
Keep staff and external organizations informed of activities, scheduling and information that affect their area of concern
Review Monthly Activity Reports of persons’ hours, programming hours and budgets. Manage staffing hours
Seek out relevant community organizations and individuals to develop effective local and Access programming
Maintain a volunteer program (recruit, train, motivate). Volunteer targets for programming to be established
Meet CRTC programming requirements
Public representative of Eastlink TV
Foster and build positive working relationships within the programming department, media partners, community leaders and elected officials
Manage budgets; including Required Spend and Capital
Operate within the Monthly and Annual Budget requirements
Meet all legal and policy requirements under the Health and Safety Act
Recommend and administer performance management programs such as attendance management, probationary review, including disciplinary actions, as required
Manage the work of employees including shift scheduling, approving overtime and vacations, granting or denying request for leaves of absence

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Post secondary Diploma or degree in Television Production
At least 5 years related experience in the Television field
3+ years supervisory experience
Experience with contract and partnership management
Highly skilled in studio production, ENG/EFP production, editing and multi-camera mobile production
Experience with non-linear Avid editors
Thorough knowledge of production equipment, edit suites, studio production and computer graphics
Knowledge of production equipment, edit suites, studio production and computer graphics
A solid understanding of Broadcast/Cable Television operations
Able to manage numerous production units and people

WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to travel throughout region on a regular basis
May be required to travel to other regions from time to time
May be required to lift heavy objects (e.g. 20 kilos)
Required to work outside year-round as needed
Ability work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
