Implementation Manager, VIDEO

Applications are now being accepted for a full-time position of Implementation Manager, Video located in Whitehorse, YT.

Our Implementation Manager Video is involved in all things viewable through our cable and internet services – channels, Crave TV, ON Demand, Movie channels etc.

The Implementation Manager is accountable for managing capital projects relating to implementation of Northwestel systems, facilities and equipment based on user/service requirements driven from an understanding of business needs. The manager determines the most cost-effective method for accomplishing project needs from general information, user requirements, planning input; resulting in the development of detailed engineering plans, estimates, budgets, specifications and schedules to evaluate and implement new systems and technologies.

Duties:

  • Designing and developing detailed plans to upgrade, replace and/or introduce new technology platforms in the form of projects.
  • Creating and managing various implementation projects that may include scheduling of resources, and procurement of technology platforms and relevant peripherals (hardware and software)
  • Monitoring capital budget expenditures, performing systems testing and ensure work is done to specification and deadlines.
  • Developing proposed network designs for review and consideration.
  • Engineering support to projects and operations in the form of Fault, Incident and Change Management under ITIL principles.
  • Managing Capacity and Availability of assets towards the development of technology business plans.
  • Providing input and solutions to strategic planners, steering teams, portfolio management team and the overall Engineering business plan.

 

As our Implementation Manager, Video you will:

What you need to ensure you are successful in this role:

  • Completion of Electrical Engineering Degree and/or Technology Diploma with 3+ years relevant experience
  • CCNA Certification
  • Basic knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) engineering
  • Basic knowledge of Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) networking
  • Basic knowledge of Cable Head End technologies
  • Basic knowledge of Cable internet technologies
  • Basic knowledge of Packet Cable technologies
  • Familiarity with traditional HFC cable infrastructure including RF experience, fiber optics including HFC ONUs, FTTx and RFOG, IP protocols, CMTS, DOCSYS specifications, voice systems including CS2000, SIP, back office systems, Video on Demand, PPV, set top box, and related experience.
  • ITIL or PMP training or certifications is considered an asset.
  • Project management knowledge and experience are considered an asset.
  • Possess very good organizational, analytical, communication (oral and written) skills, and be computer literate with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience working with SAP or a similar Enterprise Resource Planning system would be considered an asset.
