Job Description :
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will be part of a dynamic and agile Human Resources team. The HRBP will be responsible for providing strategic HR consulting services to managers and employees within a specific area of the business. Understanding the needs of the client group and aligning those with internal policies and procedures, while ensuring compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation is key to this role. With a strong focus on Employee Relations, the areas of support include but are not limited to performance management, coaching, workplace investigations, employee development, etc. This role also works very closely and aligns the overall strategy of our Centers of Excellence in Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Change Management, and ultimately contributes to achieving our overall Human Resources priorities.

Builds strong partnerships with members of the management team, employees, and other external partners.
Provides consistent and transparent application of internal policies and procedures to ensure fair and consistent implementation and application.
Partners with our HR cross functional teams such as Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, and Health & Safety.
Partners and supports the HR Recruitment team in the recruitment and selection process, application of best practices and resource planning.
Facilitates and coordinates management and employee information session and training sessions.
Partners with the management team in the annual performance review process including calibration sessions and salary increase process.
Conducts Workplace Investigations, including the completion of investigation reports.
Provides support in the ongoing performance management of employees. This support includes coaching of managers and employees, preparation of disciplinary letters, ensures proper application of pertaining policies and procedures, etc.
Participates in special HR projects including planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of such HR projects within established timeframes and guidelines.
Prepares communications for employees and managers in a concise and structured manner.

Bachelor’s degree or combination of equivalent education and experience
CHRL certified or working towards this designation is an asset.
Minimum 7+ years of progressive HR experience as a Generalist or Business Partner with strong experience in employee relations, performance management and change management.
Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Federal and Provincial legislation and relevant case law including but not limited to: Canada Labour Code, Canadian Human Rights Act, PIPEDA, Privacy Act, Employment Equity Act, Pay Equity and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Demonstrated experience in employee relations. Hands-on strategic thinker with developed HR diagnostic, coaching, mentoring, and consultative skills.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence business partners and issues, and to anticipate and manage change effectively.
Ability to “think outside the box” and see the “big picture” impact of decisions and actions.
Strong analytical, problem solving, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills within a culturally diverse multi-location work environment.
Sound understanding of all technical aspects of multiple HR disciplines and their impact on business and financial activities.
Working knowledge of Workday is an asset, or any other HRMS.
Working knowledge of the Google suite such as Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs; and MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to compile and prepare information and recommendations for internal and external use.
Strong presentation and delivery skills.
Experienced in effectively coordinating and planning multiple projects, executing multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently while working with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation
Demonstrated ability to work with limited direction and supervision combined with the initiative to identify and resolve problems independently.
Demonstrated change agent with a learning attitude towards work and teams. Streamlines processes and promotes quality.
Exercises good judgment and uses discretion with highly confidential information.
Demonstrated relationship management skills coupled with a high level of professionalism.
Team player with solid interpersonal skills combined with a winning customer service attitude.
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset and strongly preferred.
