This is a renewable one (1) year contract position.
As a host for ICI Radio-Canada Première in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, you will host station’s weekday afternoon show in keeping with Corporation standards and policies. More specifically, you will keep up with developments in the area(s) covered by the program and maintain contacts with various sources. You will do the research necessary for interviews and other program activities. You will write or adapt intros.
During production meetings, you will assist in planning and choosing content for the program. You will host the show on air, reading prepared scripts, “ad libbing” as needed, and providing segues between the various program segments.

In addition, you may be required to read newscasts and deliver promos.
Your role as a host will also include community outreach at public events. You will contribute to the program’s social media content.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Five years of on-air experience or the equivalent
Fluent in the working language (French)
English, an asset
On-air presence and ease
Extensive general knowledge
Extensive knowledge of current affairs, in particular of Abitibi-Témiscamingue’s region
Strong interviewing skills
Proven journalism skills
Strong on air presence and performance
Strong high-energy on the air, strong ability to connect with audience
Host with a curious and engaging on-air personality
An experienced and comfortable broadcaster with a strong affinity and interest in his audience
Excellent diction and enunciation skills
Able to analyze, synthesize and think critically
Able to work under pressure
Ability to work in a team
Strong team player
Ability to work under stress
Must have a valid driver’s license
