This is a contractual position for a period of one (1) year.
As Art Director, you will be responsible for the graphic identity of the MAJ – News for Young Audiences project. You will develop static and animated visuals for all the brand’s platforms (website, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube). You will be required to create signatures and other animated graphic elements for all MAJ video content. You will also be expected to make creative, innovative suggestions to evolve MAJ’s identity consistently and in a way that’s appropriate for all platforms and the target audience (kids 13 and under).
You will work on a daily basis with the multiplatform production team as well as other members of the Kids & Youth and News departments.
Essential qualities for this position include creativity, the ability the manage multiple projects simultaneously, in-depth knowledge of all platforms, strong proficiency with graphic design and animation software as well as experience producing multiplatform digital content.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design (or equivalent)
Three or more years’ experience designing and producing graphics for television and digital media
Proficiency with graphic design, animation and video editing software (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Final Cut Pro and/or Premiere)
Good knowledge of graphic and motion design trends
Experience producing multiplatform digital content
Very good knowledge of spoken and written French
Ability to work well under pressure for extended periods
Excellent interpersonal skills
