Supervising National Online Journalist
About The Role
Reporting to the National Online Managing Editor, the Evening and Weekend Supervisor, National Online Journalist will oversee story generation for news events.
Supervise and contribute editorial input to the work of Globalnews.ca’s national online weekend team
Coordinate the efficient production of news content for events across all our websites
Work with online reporters to increase traffic and revenue
Planning and creating compelling and original multi-media web stories
Liaising with various digital and broadcast teams, including web producers, news directors, producers, assignment editors, anchors, reporters and other news professionals, as well as third-party content providers, to facilitate the creation of unique online content.

What We Need From You
Candidate must possess an exceptional attention to detail
Ability to plan coverage based on day-of news and upcoming events
Ability to parse complex data into succinct, articulate points.
Enthusiasm and passion for all forms of news — everything from international events to politics, pop culture, sports — as well as a keen interest in technology and digital media.
Exceptional relationship building skills in order to facilitate communication and collaboration
