Your role

This job can be done remotely and can be based anywhere in Canada.

This is a contract for 1 year with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Your key responsibilities:
Write clear, engaging communications for public audiences. Includes speeches, editorials, internal communications, and letters on issues of importance to CBC/Radio-Canada and the cultural industry.
Translate the Corporation’s strategic objectives and positions into compelling narratives intended for external audiences
Work with a French writer to review translated documents and adapt French materials for an english audience.
Ensure high-quality copy editing of materials produced by others
Develop, in collaboration with the public affairs team, a planning calendar for written materials.
Liaise with internal experts to gather content about relevant topics
Adopt key messages developed by the Strategy, Public Affairs and Government relations and Communications teams for use in public communications
Ensure consistency with the organisation’s objectives
Maintain a style guide

We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Degree in Communications, Journalism or equivalent
Minimum of five years of directly-related experience in a similar role
Exceptional writing, copywriting and proofreading skills in English
Experience in strategic and policy writing, speech writing
Knowledge of the media industry is an asset.
Strong oral communications skills
Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information
Ability to write quickly and for various formats (print, video, scripts, social media content)
Creativity
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing various projects at the same time with tight deadline
Attention to details
Experience in providing advice to senior executives
Able to work in English and French
