Position Summary
Cogeco is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and technically experienced Disaster Recovery Specialist / Datacenter Coordinator. This is an exciting, highly autonomous role that would allow the right candidate a great opportunity for personal growth and satisfaction, but also to drive real meaningful change within our organization.

Key Responsibilities :
Work with Architects (network, application) and project leads to drive the standardization, simplification and automation of DR processes (cloud and on-prem)
Participate in early and end stage projects to validate and support DR design and testing activities
Organize and coordinate testing of the DR plans on regular basis
Maintain up-to-date business continuity and technical DR plans
Analyse and document technology-to-business DR dependencies
Manage and support data center operations in Cogeco data centers and DR facilities
Establish and maintain data center standards and policies.
Manage data center change, capacity and Access Management processes
Interface with facilities for data center infrastructure related items.
Planning and evolution of data center infrastructure
Coordinate or participate in infrastructure related upgrades or projects. Includes planning, scheduling, and coordinating of IT and related vendor resources
Review all enhancements to the Syscon facility that may affect critical systems power (street, UPS, generator & critical switching) and cooling systems

Essential Qualifications
Academic Training
Bachelor degree in computer science or related fields required

Work Experience
10 + years in a related IT environment
5+ yrs in a disaster recovery role
3-5 yrs years of experience writing technical documentation (disaster recovery documents, test plans, post exercise reports etc.)
3+ yrs working with cloud services (GCP preferred)
Strong knowledge of functional and technical IT architecture including servers (Windows, VMware and Linux), networks, databases, applications and interfaces.
Experience in data centre planning and environmental management, business continuity or disaster recovery management is a strong asset.
Proven track record of IT related project management with emphasis on disaster recovery & infrastructure projects.
Experienced in escalating issues to 3rd party vendor senior management for problem action & resolution
One or more Disaster Recovery certifications are an asset.
ITIL certification/experience is an asset.
Ability to define and implement processes and methodologies.
Relevant experience implementing consolidated or automated DR technologies
In depth knowledge of critical systems power and cooling systems
Ability to review end to end system designs to identify risks, failure points and recommend disaster avoidance enhancements
Strong customer and business orientation.
Ability to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment and experience in effectively executing multiple tasks while working with conflicting priorities.
Impact analysis skills, with the ability to see the “big picture” outcome of decisions/actions.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish good working relationships with cross-functional IT teams, other departments and external suppliers.
Can be required to work after-hours to support operational people.
Occasional travel required between Cogeco’s locations.
Bilingualism is preferred.
