The Finance Team manages the performance and risk profile of Bell, ensuring the needs of customers, investors and employees are balanced with long-term business success. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute plans that help the company achieve its strategic objectives and ensure financial sustainability.

Position Description:
As the Director, you will be part of the Finance Accounting Systems team dedicated to enhance and support the multiple technology platforms used by the Controllers and Finance function.

Job Duties/ Accountabilities:
This role will be tasked with many important and exciting functions including:
Serve as a Controller’s automation lead, working with leaders across the Controller’s team to develop and prioritize initiatives, in concert with our Finance 2025 transformation strategy and roadmap.
Manage the overall Automation governance for the Controller’s organization; includes the management of a “front door” strategy and prioritization of use cases, using criteria including return-on-investment and complexity of development and support.
Leverage various automation capabilities across the team including Robotics (AutomationAnywhere), ETL/Analytics (Alteryx), and other programming language and tools to develop high velocity and stable solutions.
Responsible for the support of various non-SAP solutions developed internally and with our Information Technology organization.
Leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning practice for continued transformation of Controller’s month-end close and accounts payable processes, including the responsibility to synthesize and assess feasibility of use cases and provide technical leadership and guidance to team members.

Required Skills/ Experience:
Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Applied Math, Business Administration, Finance or any other related field (master’s degree considered an asset).
CPA or related finance experience considered an asset
At least 10 years of working experience in a data analytics or data warehousing team, preferably working most recently as a team leader.
Successful experience building teams and guiding them through successful automation and robotics projects.
Demonstrated experience in business process analysis, data architecture design and development, and the implementation of workflow enabled solutions and their intricacies in a controlled finance environment.
Technical Skills:
A strong comprehension and experience with data management, automation technology and programming language: Alteryx, AutomationAnywhere, SQL, R, Delphi.
A comprehension of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and their application (and challenges) in creating relevant solutions for Controllers’ organization.
Experience with programming languages, data analytics, and statistical methods
Experience developing full business and functional requirements, considerations and best practices including SOx, and data/source reconciliations.
Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.) and VBA
Familiarity with SAP data structures and capabilities, and financial processes that interact with SAP.
Leadership/ People Skills:
Ability to inspire and lead and coach a cross-functional group in a unified direction with a common vision.
Comfortable working, leading and managing change.
Detail oriented, comfortable working in a collaborative setting, comfortable working with senior executives, self-motivated requiring minimal supervision, proactive, creative and bold thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight-deadlines, positive can-do attitude, and demonstrate calmness and composure in times of uncertainty and stress.


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
