The Director, Product Management, News and Entertainment will own overall responsibility for our extensive digital product suite, including all of Rogers Sports & Media’s news, lifestyle and entertainment websites and apps for all digital and IP based platforms. The role will be responsible for documenting the vision, prioritizing, road-mapping, and managing the release cycle for all digital products. He/she will deeply understand Rogers Sports & Media’s business imperatives, as well as the media and digital content distribution landscape.
The Product Director will ensure there is appropriate consistency in terms of digital product experiences across disparate platforms and devices. He/she will have direct management of the News & Entertainment Digital product team and will carry key responsibilities to ensure that our digital product priorities are met by forging strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g. IT, editorial, technical operations, creative, marketing and social media groups) as well as external partners and contractors.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Product Management and Leadership
Own and drive product roadmap and strategy for all News and Entertainment digital offerings, including the launch of a world-class news website and app for all digital and IP based platforms; drive our digital offerings through conception, planning, development, release, early adoption, enhancement and market penetration
Serve as internal product expert on Video, Audio and Written products and experiences including websites, apps, IPTV products, OTT/DTC products and any future digital product offerings
Lead the product development lifecycle – brainstorming topics, problem statements, specifications, prototypes, key performance metrics, test plans, and more
Develop high engagement, cutting edge – yet scalable and stable products that grow user engagement around our content and brand
Closely monitor market trends, consumer behavior and competitor activities in the lending space
Rigorously use product analytics to drive product adoption and iteration
Identify market opportunities that protect and extend Rogers Sports & Media’s digital unique competitive differentiators and provide recommendations and plans to improve current product features where needed
Be a conduit between all elements of the business (e.g., sales, marketing, editorial, legal, communications, etc) and clients
Oversee key digital, strategic partnerships to ensure that we are staying ahead of the curve on product development, updates and new distribution capabilities
Sit on the News and Entertainment SLT and partner with all content leads to build audiences & RSM’s sales organization to optimize product monetization
Work cross functionally with RSM’s Innovation Technology and Development team, Business Development, Ad Product team to drive effective product roadmaps and client solutions.
Forge strong internal relationships with the News and Entertainment Content, Distribution and Editorial teams
Build working relationships with Rogers IT and Digital Experience teams to ensure key deliverables are met and key learnings are enabled within the overall Rogers digital ecosystem
Work closely with senior leadership providing status, action plans and recommendations

Build, develop and retain high performing teams that lead positive contributions throughout the company
WHAT YOU HAVE:
University degree in related field, MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10-15 years of digital media experience in production and strategy, ideally in a media company
Dynamic, curious, entrepreneurial, ambitious & innovative leader with a deep understanding of media and technology
Drive & ability to most fast and get things done in a complex, matrix organization
A breadth and depth of knowledge of multiple digital products, with experience launching digital products on many digital channels.
Have your finger on digital trends; stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, processes, approaches, and competitor offerings.
