Digital Strategist, so.da

Work Status: Temporary Contract (12 months)
Location: Toronto, ON. Temporarily work from home/remote within Ontario.
About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity at our Social and Digital Agency (so.da) on our Lifestyle Team for a Digital Strategist. Reporting to the Manager of Digital – Lifestyle, you will be responsible for the strategic management of such brands as HGTV Canada, Food Network Canada, SLICE and History lifestyle brands, overseeing the work of the Editors and Producers working collaboratively with various departments.
The so.da team is a tight braintrust within a large corporation. It is comprised of a fast-paced and innovative team of strategists, editors, producers, analysts, community managers, designers and platform experts. They are problem-solvers, out-of-the-box thinkers, trend-hunters and data synthesizers. The team thrives on collaboration and communication, and no creative idea goes unexplored.
You’ll be working on things like:
Help to drive content strategy for each assigned brand focusing on what to stop/start/continue
Oversee content insight documents, content calendars and content plans, providing counsel on what to publish and when
Plan and run content brainstorms, moving along editorial content planning process
Artfully map out key insights and data and provide recommendations in order to optimize sites and grow audiences
Help to seek out and spearhead audience growth initiatives, ex. development and management of influencer network
Keep abreast of industry trends and regularly present fresh, proactive ideas to managers and team
Contribute to sales strategy for digital to help manage strategy for series-related and non-show-related content projects and sponsorships, including: developing and reviewing sales proposals, monitoring performance and course adjusting execution as needed
Contribute to real time and milestone reporting for campaigns using data and editorial insights
Oversee and mentor editors, producers and other team members
Plan and publish content for new businesses, sales projects and other opportunities, as needed
Occasional opportunity to contribute content to Corus lifestyle brands and appear on-camera, across different platforms
Assist manager with research, ideation and presentations for new business opportunities
Act as touch-point for syndication partners
Work closely with manager to meet audience targets and revenue targets across the digital portfolio
If You Have the Following….We Want to Hear From You!
A minimum of 3+ years building and managing digital strategies
College or University degree (or equivalent experience), preferable in Media, Arts, Journalism, Communications or Business
Strong understanding digital media and competitive landscape to brainstorm and champion digital strategies
Strong understanding of SEO, SEM, QA processes, Analytics including Google and Omniture
Understanding of key digital success metrics
Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines with precision
Ability to manage complexity and navigate difficult relationships
A strategic, data-driven decision-making process
Aptitude for lifestyle brands
Sincerity, transparency, integrity, and respectfulness
Excellent information synthesis, communication and collaboration skills
