The role
As the Business Management Lead for Digital, you will report directly to the VP and will work closely with the leadership team on two main functions: (i) facilitating the overall performance of Digital & Self-Serve; and (ii) managing and executing all administrative functions for the department.

The Business Management Lead is the ‘central nervous system’ for Digital whose focus is on the day-to-day administrative functions of the Digital team. In close collaboration with the VP and the leadership team, success will be measured by your ability to administer the financials, facilitate departmental performance (including financial), define / manage efficient operational processes, and work effectively with the leadership team.

Ideally, the Business Management Lead will be on-site in our Calgary location (Shaw Barlow). However, the nature of the role could allow the individual to work-from-home if this is the preferred option so long as they can visit the office at least once per month.

A typical day
The individual in this role can be expected to spend about a third of their time focused on financials for the department, including making monthly updates, explaining budget variances, identifying financial risks, and managing the annual fiscal planning process. Overall, responsibilities include:
i. financial management including planning, budgeting, reporting and the preparation of future year investment submissions during the annual budgeting process (30%)
ii. process design and continuous improvement (10%)
iii. KPI and performance reporting and analytics (15%)
iv. contract management and administration (10%)
v. approvals process management and administration (10%)
vi. onboarding and facilities management, include access management and administration (5%)
vii. employee and departmental compliance (5%)
viii. VP / executive support (15%)

Your skills/experience
• Required skills:
o prior knowledge of Shaw internal workings would be beneficial but is not essential
o financial management
o digital business knowledge
o facilitation and strong communication skills
o strong relationship management skills
o deep analytic skills, including strong Excel skills
o ability to juggle multiple competing demands / responsibilities
o ability to operate as a member of the Digital & Self-Serve leadership team
o process definition / design skills
o project / initiative management experience

• This role is located at Shaw Barlow in Calgary but can be work-from-home to accommodate the ideal candidate.
