Contracts Administrator


The Canadian Communication Systems Alliance (CCSA) represents more than 100 Independent companies providing bundled internet, TV & telephone services to hundreds of thousands of Canadians in communities generally outside urban markets, from coast to coast to coast. CCSA Members include community cooperatives, family businesses, municipalities and companies owned by Indigenous Peoples.

As part of our service to members, the CCSA negotiates contracts (“Master Agreements”) on the collective behalf of our membership with hundreds of Canadian and foreign television programming services for our members’ carriage of their signals and participates, as needed, in any related CRTC dispute resolution processes. We are also continually exploring opportunities to negotiate Master Agreements for our members’ benefit for other products or services important to their businesses.

Contracts Administrator

Key Areas of Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Manager, Contracts, the Contracts Administrator position demonstrates excellent client service and contract administration skills, via the following key areas of responsibility: 

  • Manage process of Member assumption of agreements, including Member communication and follow-up (with part-time clerk support), liaison with content provider, tracking and reporting, within required timelines
  • Perform contract execution process, involving contract comparison and analysis, data entry, communication with content provider and internal information dissemination, within process deadlines
  • Create and disseminate contract highlights
  • Track and report on contract status and expiry dates, and on ongoing negotiations, as required
  • Provide contract analysis and comparison support
  • Coordinate regular Board Committee meetings, including preparing draft documents and taking attendance and minutes
  • Act as first point of contact for Member contract queries
  • Prepare, post and communicate various Member reports related to contract terms
  • Coordinate Member update meetings and internal contracts meetings
  • Other projects as required

Qualifications

Essential

  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of contract administration experience
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 (Office) suite of apps, e.g. Microsoft Excel, MS-Word and use of database applications
  • Balanced combination of people skills and detail orientation
  • Team player who demonstrates a self-initiated, solutions-oriented, positive and energetic attitude who can gain the confidence of Members and content providers
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

Assets

  • Bilingualism – English and French
  • Media or broadcast-industry experience with knowledge of content rights and video distribution

Location

TBD – While the CCSA’s Head Office is located in Saint John, NB, we also offer a remote work option.
