The Contract Director, Broadband Services will be responsible for establishing, managing and directing the commercial startup activities for the Region of Durham’s Broadband infrastructure network. This role will be responsible for overseeing the development of the business case and business plan to establish a Regional broadband network, and securing Council approval to incorporate a new Municipal Services Corporation (MSC) in compliance with applicable legislation. This role will also act as the commercial lead in negotiations with other third parties to form joint ventures, partnership agreements, or service agreements as necessary to affect the successful launch of the program and MSC. This role is responsible for bringing high-speed connectivity to underserved businesses and residents, and accountable to the Region as shareholder for positive overall business unit performance.
The ideal candidate possesses a relevant university degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Science, or equivalent complemented with a minimum ten (10) years of experience in marketing, finance, product management, network operations, business development and sales functions within a telecommunication service provider or telecommunications focused consulting firm environment, with at least five (5) years of experience at a senior executive level.
