The Bell Residential Content team is seeking a strategic, analytical, and collaborative Manager to work on the Content Acquisition team. Located in Montreal and reporting to the Senior Manager of Content Acquisition in Toronto, this manager will aid in acquiring leading programming for Bell TV and its digital platforms, with a focus on French-language content.
The ideal candidate is fluently bilingual, with strong critical thinking skills that allow for a balance of intense attention to detail as well as the ability to see the big picture. Self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to work well with internal cross-functional teams at a distance, as well as manage external relationships with content partners.
Participate in all aspects of negotiation to enable Bell TV’s distribution of linear television services, video-on-demand content, live pay-per-view events and Apps (including financial analysis and forecasting, contract drafting in English and in French, digital content security requirements, etc)
Manage and evaluate external content partners through performance tracking and relationship cultivation in an effort to enhance each partner’s business
Develop market expertise through continuous focus on and knowledge of the competitive and market environment, with a particular focus on TV and entertainment trends in Quebec
Communicate market trends and industry shifts, including implications for programming strategy and the overall business
Develop and manage strong relationships with content partners in Quebec and elsewhere in the world
Deliver on financial objectives for the business unit through successful and creative contract negotiations
Superior negotiation skills combined with the ability to effectively synthesize and simplify complex situations
Strong analytics, financial acumen and demonstrated experience in competitive analysis and strategic thinking
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability cultivate and build beneficial external relationships
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal partners in a cross functional organization through partnership, collaboration and open communication
Excellent presentation skills with ability to communicate market trends, industry shifts and financial analysis to senior executive team
Ability to work independently, self-motivated, highly pro-active, and flexible with the ability to adapt to a complex and quickly changing environment.
University degree in Business or related discipline; MBA preferred but not required
Fluently bilingual, capable of verbal and written communication in English and French
5-7 years of work experience, with at least 2 years previous experience in negotiations; Telecom industry experienced preferred and previous content acquisition experience an asset
Advanced mastery of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with Quebec television and entertainment content is an asset
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
