Communications Manager – Cybersecurity Awareness – Telus

Join our team

Today much of our life happens online, in an ever more connected world. With many of us using technology for just about everything, we’re sharing more personal data than ever before, often without realizing it. At TELUS Security, we strive to set the standard and stay a step ahead of the challenges presented by the continuously evolving security landscape. In support of this, the Governance, Risk and Awareness team is looking for a strong communicator to help bring our Security Awareness Program to the next level.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

As a Strategy Manager on the Governance, Risk and Awareness team, you’ll play a key role in executing and expanding the Security Awareness Program. Using your communications knowledge and creativity, you’ll help promote security best practices among team members across TELUS, transforming technical lingo and complex security ideas into engaging, easy to understand content. You recognize the value of helping team members understand that using security best practices helps protect TELUS, our customers and themselves/their families. You’ll also have a chance to expand the Security Awareness Program, using new and innovate ways to engage and educate team members.

We’re looking for someone who can leverage their communications and marketing skills to both own and deliver the program today while strategically planning for the future.

Here’s how
Collaborative communicator: Forge strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including communications and marketing professionals across TELUS, the wider security team and senior leadership
Knowledgeable team player: Stay up to date with the latest security events and thinking on communications strategy
Well-skilled professional:
Work with team members across TELUS Security to maintain and build relationships and identify strategies to target different audiences and build on TELUS’ industry leading awareness program
Prepare and execute a Security Awareness Program communications plan that drives team member engagement in security and motivates them to implement security best practices
Write engaging copy, using up-to-date writing techniques, to deliver content that is inspiring and easy to understand
Create and disseminate communication materials, including Habitat articles, digital posters, Habitat banner ads, presentations, and Habitat web pages
Prepare security training modules with content geared towards new and existing TELUS team members
Keep up with the latest techniques companies are using to engage and educate their workforce and the public
Partner with TELUS WISE to share internal awareness content and execute joint campaigns
Utilize Pulsecheck results and other available metrics to ensure content is reaching team members effectively; create tailored Awareness plans for teams showing lower engagement results
Deliver our annual Cyber Security Awareness Month initiative each October
