You are an excited Cloud Infrastructure developer. You have some real-world experience, and you’re eyeing some of those interesting certifications from Google or Amazon and saying “yeah, that’s cool”. You can work independently, and are looking to take on some more difficult challenges to solve. You are an active voice in your development team, and look forward to sharing your learning and experience more broadly.
As a cloud infrastructure developer, you will be a key contributor to our platform engineering team – automating pipelines and ensuring excellent interactions & instrumentation on our cloud infrastructure. You will work side-by-side with leaders and practitioners to inform best practices and help grow the knowledge and expertise of our team.
You will be working as part of a friendly, cross-discipline agile team who helps each other solve problems across all functions. As an advocate of developer trust, you will employ best practices in development, security, accessibility and design to achieve the highest quality of service for our team & customers.
We are building new, industry-leading practices on Google Cloud, and maintain a significant footprint on Openshift (AWS). You will work both with our partners and our internal teams to manage these services and invest in our future environment.
Maintaining and improving our AWS infrastructure
Working with our security team to ensure we have secure infrastructure
Cloud network monitoring, alerts, health checks
Developer Experience tools to improve Infrastructure as Code
Strategy around OpenShift integrations, cluster growth & deployments
Understanding contemporary best practices from external experts
Prototyping and demonstrating new offerings to evaluate for use & adoption
Owning/maintaining network connectivity diagrams & live network environments
You’re the missing piece of the puzzle
Familiarity with AWS Services
Familiarity with OpenShift, Ubuntu, Red Hat
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker
Experience with DevOps, Terraform, CICD, Jenkins, and Configuration management tools
Understanding of the design, delivery & migration of highly-available, fault-tolerant cloud network solutions
Comfortable with network maintenance activities, software upgrades, and network infrastructure augments/changes
Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
A collaborative mindset and desire to help others level up too
AWS Certified Solution Architect (or ready to get certified)
AWS Global Accelerator, NLB, ALB, NAT Gateway, Internet Gateway, L3/L7 Load Balancing, VPC, subnets, and security groups experience
Experience with multiple cloud providers
Familiar with AWS Well-Architected Framework, Knowledge of Cloud Security Best Practices and Standards (CIS, Security and DDoS best practices)
Knowledge of TCP/IP, IP addresses, HTTP, DNS, Route53, Routing, Ngnix, HAProxy, Firewalls, WAF, Network ACL, and Security Policies
Knowledge of routing policy changes/corrections and redirections
Knowledge of network OSI model
Knowledge of GCP, Hashicorp Vault and Terraform
Experience in creating and socializing technology roadmaps – change management
Understanding of and interest in Instrumentation and Observability principles
