Please note these are casual (temporary, on-call) opportunities and shifts may include being assigned to work early mornings, days, evenings or weekends. We are looking to hire for the following locations: Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton.

Your role

Come and get your foot in the door of one of our exciting, multi-platform newsrooms. New Brunswick is looking to hire you on a temporary basis! Would you like to join one of CBC bureaus that delivers news to Canadians through our media platforms (digital, radio, social media and television)? Are you a visual storyteller who thinks creatively? If you have innovative ways of telling stories, we offer various positions in the newsroom including Associate Producer, Reporter/Editor and Reporter/Editor assigned to online.

We are looking for candidates with the following:
Bachelor’s degree, Community College certificate or equivalent in a media related field.
Excellent news judgment, writing and journalistic skills.
Extensive general knowledge of New Brunswick.
Knowledge of newsroom logistics.
Strong visual storytelling skills.
Ability to edit in the field and in a newsroom.
Thinks collaboratively with a ‘can-do attitude’.
Understanding of story-telling for each platform.
Excellent knowledge of news and current affairs (from various sources).
Knowledge of production methods.
Keen interest in new tools and able to learn how to use them.
Able to work under pressure on tight deadlines.
Willing to work flexible, irregular hours, depending on the assignment.
Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
