We are looking for a Projects and Infrastructure Manager to join our Columbia Basin Broadband corporation (CBBC) team. If you have experience overseeing the design, implementation and operation of broadband activities and an interest in supporting Basin connectivity, we want to hear from you! This is a regular, full time position based out of any of our four offices: Castlegar, Cranbrook, Nakusp or Golden.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, CBBC, the successful candidate will:
•Lead all aspects of fibre optic and wireless design, implementation and operation.
•Identify opportunities for network growth, risks and mitigation and participate in strategic planning processes.
•Oversee multiple capital projects with sensitive timelines, including maintaining schedules and budgets.
•Oversee organization-wide projects including the development of funding applications, proposals and developing recommendations.
•Build and maintain relationships internally and externally including with service providers, property owners, customers, fundraising agencies, regulatory agencies, First Nations and local government.
•Direct internal team and external resources including contractors.
•Oversee complex procurement and purchase of goods and services and execute property or land use agreements needed to develop and maintain network infrastructure.
•Lead the development of policies in emerging areas and ensure proper documentation is collected.
•Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
We are seeking an individual with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of eight years of experience in telecommunications infrastructure including excellent knowledge of wireless and fibre networks as well as regulatory and permitting processes. The ideal candidate will be skilled in customer and stakeholder relationship management, have well developed communication skills and strong problem-solving ability. Knowledge of construction management, procurement and contract best practices, risk management and mapping software including GIS are required. Project management and budgeting experience are also key to the role, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
