The Financial Controller is seeking a highly motivated Associate to be a part of the Controller organization’s transformative journey towards becoming trusted and valued business partners delivering Financial Results in an entirely new way through best in class people, processes and innovation.
Job Duties / Accountabilities:
Support the financial results close process to ensure accurate, complete and timely results through:
Partner with various business stakeholders to understand the processes generating accounting transactions
Preparation and review of routine accounting transactions
Support various internal and external reporting
Perform validation and reconciliation of General Ledger inputs and balances
Adherence to internal control and audit requirements
Support various special projects
Provide support on processing new routine business transactions and processes while maintaining strong governance and controls
Participate in identifying areas of potential improvements in existing processes and assist in the implementation of changes that lead to increased efficiency and effectiveness of processes
Support internal and external customers by providing information and explanations to aid in understanding and interpreting transactional process, data and reporting.
Learn and leverage the use of technology in transactional processes to improve quality and efficiency
Analysis, explanations and presentation of financial information to drive value-add decision-making
Essential Qualifications / Competencies:
Proficiency in MS applications including Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook
Ability to learn and use new technology and tools:
Ability to work in a culture of innovation – a personal interest in upskilling in latest digital and technology trends and an openness to learning new tools and ways for working
Ability to understand operational business linkages to financial processes
Attention to detail, speed and accuracy
Good written and verbal communication skills (English and French), ability to communicate with internal / external parties and at various levels in the organization.
Strong organizational skills, able to execute on priorities and demonstrate composure in times of uncertainty
Ability to partner and build relationships and engage with cross-functional groups and management levels towards a common vision
Ability to take initiative and ownership of issues leading to resolution
Proven ability to work in a team and contribute to a positive and rewarding work environment with colleagues, including virtual teams
Preferred Qualifications / Competencies:
A degree or diploma in accounting/finance, business/commerce and/or previous related experience
Prior experience in a finance / accounting role
Working knowledge of BI and SAP, FI module, JESS system process
Experience in information technology

Monday to Friday during day time
Working from home until further notice
