We’re looking for someone to lead our 5G Innovation lab (5G Create Lab). We want a user centric strategic thinker who is comfortable defining a vision with a measurable strategy for achieve that vision. You and your team will help ensure Rogers is building meaningful products & services by partnering with internal teams and help to prepare those teams to own, maintain and continuously improve the products/services we deliver with them.
We’re also looking to engage in the Canadian ecosystem and make connections with startups and scaleups to partner and build collaboratively. You’ll be accelerating the adoption of 5G across various business units and our technology teams across Canada.
Build a pipeline of innovation: Identify, assess, prioritize and recommend innovative use cases
Align stakeholders under a defined strategy
Coordinate test & learn activities, evaluating PoCs to determine areas of improvement and adoption
Collaborate with local ecosystem, to drive thought leadership and partnership in advancing the use cases
Creative with the ability to design innovation prototypes
Business-savvy, you understand how all the pieces of a business connect and affect each other
Promote user-centred design and guide technological change at Rogers
Recruit, hire, nurture and lead diverse product teams

What we are looking for:
Have a mix of both corporate and entrepreneurial experience

You’re a decisive leader who knows how to motivate cross-functional teams to build the right thing
Able to communicate technical concepts to anyone
Able to work with anyone from any department, present ideas to board members and mentor co-ops
Someone with a deep understanding of networks and how objects can connect to each other
Collaborate with partners, both internally and externally
Learn from failure and work in the unknown
Design Thinking and Prototyping experience
Understanding of emerging network technologies (5G, Edge Computing, IoT, AI/ML)
Masters Degree an asset
Experience with the innovation process (Lean Startup, etc) and a history of delivering on outcomes
Some product management/design experience would be an asset
